Fabularny debiut Payal Kapadii uwodzi zmysłową atmosferą, lirycznym tonem i poetyckim stylem narracji. To malowany granatem monsunowego nieba, fascynujący portret Mumbaju, blues dla samotnych w miejskim tłumie, a przede wszystkim opowieść o współczesnych Indiach widzianych oczami trzech kobiet. Bohaterki Kapadii należą do różnych pokoleń. Najstarsza Parvaty straciła męża, a wraz z nim dach nad głową. Mąż Prabhy wyjechał za pracą, pozostawiając ją zdaną tylko na siebie, tęskniącą za bliskością. Tylko młodziutka Anu kogoś ma, ale musi ukrywać miłość, której nie akceptują jej rodzice. Trzy kobiety opiekują się sobą w pełnej kontrastów metropolii, w której egzystują obok siebie nędza i piękno, chciwość i troska, pragnienia i zakazy. „Wszystkie odcienie światła” wprowadzają w świat aranżowanych małżeństw, religijnych podziałów, patriarchalnych tradycji, klasowych różnic, drapieżnej gentryfikacji. Dreams and longings under the sky of Mumbai. All the Shades of Light at Kino Konesera
CKF Stylowy and the Film Club Senso warmly invite you to a film evening from the Kino Konesera series. On May 29, 2025, at 6:30 PM, the screen will feature All the Shades of Light – winner of the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival and the first Indian title in the Cannes competition in 30 years.
Payal Kapadia’s feature debut enchants with a sensual atmosphere, lyrical tone, and poetic narrative style. It is a portrait of Mumbai painted with the indigo of monsoon skies – a blues for the lonely in the urban crowd, and above all, a story of contemporary India seen through the eyes of three women.

👩 The heroines of Kapadia’s film
- Parvaty – the eldest, who lost her husband and with him her home.
- Prabha – whose husband left for work, leaving her alone and longing for closeness.
- Anu – the youngest, who has someone, but must hide her love from disapproving parents.
Together, these three women care for one another in a metropolis of contrasts, where poverty and beauty, greed and compassion, desires and prohibitions coexist.
All the Shades of Light introduces viewers to the world of arranged marriages, religious divisions, patriarchal traditions, class differences, and ruthless gentrification – delicately exploring an intimate female microcosm.
