(Prymitywiści do narodów świata i do Polski)

Zamojska Akademia Kultury
🎨📖 We invite you to graphic design workshops with interwar poetry, led by Prof. Ryszard Kajzer – the designer of the graphic layout for the series 20 Years of the 20th Century.
During the meeting, we will explore the connections between word and image. We will look at how the rebellious energy of poetry from the 1920s and 1930s can inspire today’s work in graphic design and typography.
The Futurists broke conventions – they abandoned traditional verse forms, disrupted spelling and grammar rules, and provoked. Their goal was artistic revolution. They treated words not only as carriers of meaning but also as sound, rhythm, and graphic symbols. As Anatol Stern and Aleksander Wat wrote:
“WORDS have their weight, sound, color, their drawing. THEY TAKE UP SPACE.” (Primitives to the Nations of the World and to Poland)
These ideas will be the starting point for our creative work. Under the guidance of Ryszard Kajzer – a renowned graphic artist, poster designer, and book designer – we will work with selected poetic texts from the interwar period.
The workshops are inspired by the book Literature of the Interwar Period – a new release in the 20 Years of the 20th Century series, which presents the most important literary phenomena and movements of that era.
📅 Date: August 3 ⏰ Time: 1:20–2:50 PM 📍 Venue: Zamość Academy of Culture
The meeting is part of the Youth Program – Space of Inspiration at the Capital of the Polish Language Festival. Workshops dedicated to the 20 Years of the 20th Century series.
