A Surprise for the Young Audience of the Zamość Summer Theatre Festival
📅 July 3, 2025 🕕 6:00 PM 📍 Courtyard of the Zamość Academy of Culture
“Little Bear” is a story about a beautiful friendship during the unimaginably difficult time of war. Full of grotesque and humorous moments, but also deeply moving ones, it takes us back to an era when being together meant the most and carried faith and hope for a better tomorrow.
The brilliant performance by Konrad Szymański transports children to the Middle East, to the 2nd Polish Corps, where a bear grows up among Polish soldiers. The journey continues with the bear and soldiers traveling to Italy aboard the ship Batory, and then to Monte Cassino. The play concludes with the story of the soldiers’ difficult postwar fate and the bear’s life in the Edinburgh Zoo. Beyond its artistic value, the performance conveys historical content in an accessible way.
Konrad Szymański – theatre and film actor, graduate of the Acting Department of the Aleksander Zelwerowicz Theatre Academy in Warsaw. Since 2020, he has been a full-time actor at the Dramatic Theatre in Warsaw. He has received numerous awards, including at the Theatre Arts Festival in Łódź.
🎭 The play is presented as part of the 50th Zamość Summer Theatre Festival.
